We’re happy to have Zigman Bird join other NJ musicians in a series of upcoming benefits for victims of Hurricane Maria. The first fundraiser took place at Dragonfly Music and Coffee Cafe, Somerville, NJ on Oct. 22 and was able to raise $568. The second benefit is will take place at Roxy and Duke’s Roadhouse, Dunellen, NJ on Nov. 12.
The NJ Cares Benefits for Puerto Rico came about after Liz (Trio of Madness, A Halo Called Fred) took to social media with a hypothetical question asking musicians about taking part in a fundraiser for the people of Puerto Rico after it was devastated by the recent hurricane. Overwhelmed by the response from local musicians who wanted to take part in the proposed benefit, Liz got to work and organized two benefits with all proceeds going to Habitat For Humanity of Puerto Rico.
