Their partners in Haiti include Partners in Health, St. Damien Children's Hospital, and the Visitation Hospital, which are particularly active in emergency response.
• Doctors Without Borders is on the ground and has set up clinics to treat the injured in Haiti. Donate any amount so they can keep their efforts going.
• UNICEF has issued a statement that "Children are always the most vulnerable population in any natural disaster, and UNICEF is there for them." UNICEF requests donations for relief for children in Haiti via their Haiti Earthquake Fund. You can also call 1.800.4UNICEF.

Ok people, the coming up gig is sort of a special one for Zigman Bird News. They're playing a really cool club/bar. And they're playing with some cool bands, which always helps round out a solid night out. A night where one can perhaps forget everything else but the moment they're in. So tonight, make it Heinekin. The other bands playing are Rebel Pawn and The Van Cleef Band. I love that name, Van Cleef. It's so English mock sweater; brazenly snobby. Well Van Cleef is not that. The Cleef rocks harder with more soul and has a good friend of the ZB's, John Gray, doing guitar beautifully.The other band is Rebel Pawn and the Bird had a chance to play with them at the Cup recently. Personally, I thought they were a very tight bluesyish onslaught of whipsnap crack. But that's just me.

Well another year, another Christmas Dogs of War, this time a benefit event for Kier's Kidz, which is great bc there are so many people in need these days. It was a great night hosted by our friend Al Muzer at Buddie’s Tavern. The place was packed, and people were feelin’ good. There was a local public television station present and they did interviews with many musicians playing that night. Zigman Bird's Keith and Geoff were interviewed. The performances were broadcast on 3 television sets above the bar almost live! I only say that bc there was a brief second or two lag. But wow, little Buddies is embracing technology, going hi-fi. Special thanks to Buddie’s and everyone participating for the 23rd annual Dogs of War. 23rd? Yeah, I was told 23rd, and that’s lot of history.
Zigman Bird did three covers and an original. David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream”, The Kinks “Victoria”, and Police’s “It’s Alright for You”. The original was a Keith Beck standard, “Compromise”.

L'N'L is happy to inform you of an upcoming Zigman Bird benefit gig for Battle Against Hunger. This benefit will be a bike tour that will begin in Gettysburg, PA on September 11, 2009. The riders will travel over 200 miles in 3 days arriving at Cadwalader Park in Trenton NJ on September 13 where Zigman Bird will greet them and provide the musical entertainment for the event! HARLEY-DAVIDSON / KC'S CORNER RECAP
Wow. It almost felt like Ike had hit the ZB stronghold. Fortunately the foundation held.

After many months of rehearsals, ZB bit the bullet and played three sets of classic rock
mixed in with our own 'classic' originals to a receptive Harley-Davidson audience at Williams Harley-Davidson in Lebanon, NJ on Saturday, 9/13.
It didn't look promising the night before with all the rain but in the end, we were
blessed with a dry day, albeit a bit on the muggy side. We couldn't have asked for a
better day. No technical malfunctions, good performances, no heatstroke, the great Harley
staff (we love ya Mike!) and the pleasure to see so many familiar faces (you know who you
are!). And a great BIG THANK YOU goes out to John Gray for his pro sound expertise. Thank
you friend.
Now, of course after being out in the heat and rocking the way we do, you know that we
were spent by the end of the event. But did we stop? HELL NO! ZB regrouped over at KC's Corner in South Plainfield to take part in their awesome BandFest 2! What a blast! Great
bands, people and an incredible vibe. Gotta check out the place people. Props to Lenny
who ran the event with a pro staff backing him up.
So, all in all, a great weekend.

Wow...Wow!!! Zigman Bird and the Spiders From Mars had a most spectacular time this past weekend at The Court Tavern. ZB were dressed to the hilt w/ stretch pants, glitter, eyeliner, wigs and even the one time Bowie eye patch! The crowd really enjoyed the show and ZB is thankful that you all stopped in to enjoy the fun. "Seeing David Bowie talk like Rodney Daingerfield between songs was the highlight for me" said one annonomys Halloween Martian with big fake pointy boobs...( I think they were fake) Next up after ZB was Anthony Fiumano and his band with a set of REM covers that sounded so good you thought REM were actually there on stage! Closing the night was classic Duran Duran played by the band Spiraling. A great set of tunes which ended the night and before you knew it, it was 2 o'clock closing time. Damn...if only every day were Halloween. Oh, and a special Halloween thanks to "That Guy"

ZB is alive and kickin'. This time were kickin' at Buddies Tavern In Parlin, NJ. Where is Parlin NJ some of you may ask? Well, it's extremely close to Sayreville NJ. Anyway, this Saturday night September 8th ZB will take the stage at 9:30! Yep 9:30... or a little after, but very close to 9:30 as can be expected. I would say not so far from 9:30 that it would annoy anyone. Yep, that's all I'll say about ZB's 9:30 timeslot at Buddies Tavern in Parlin NJ this Saturday night.
Also playing that night a band called "Ziggy Shock". Who knows maybe Ziggy Stardust will show up. Maybe even Ziggy Marley. Maybe the inventor of Zig-Zag rolling paper will show...? Boy what a night it will be!!!!

We collected enough toys for over fifty children that will be distributed through Somerville's Agape House, the only shelter for homeless families in Somerset County, NJ. We also want to thank the Rail for hosting the benefit as well as the incredible performances from Little Dipper, RockPool Community, Zigman Bird and Como Drive.

(October 17, 2005 - Somerville, NJ) Always on the lookout for unique, cutting-edge musical incarnations, Central New Jersey record label Lump’N’Loaf Records is proud to announce the newest addition to the L’N’L family, the Cosmic Brotherhood of Ra.
Part Secret Society, part Cult, the Tone Scientists in The Brotherhood fuse elements of late 60's/early 70's European Rock, American Psychedelic and Free Jazz along with a healthy dose of humor. Taking their influence from a long list of diverse musical and spiritual sources, they create a sound not often heard in today's "Here today, Gone tomorrow" Assembly Line style Pop Machine.
The Cosmic Brotherhood of Ra formed in 2001 to play Space Rock and expand upon the groundwork laid by pioneers of the genre while at the same time mixing in various other elements. After many lineups, the current Brotherhood have expanded upon even this, fusing in new musical elements and ideas to make up the strongest lineup to date.
“The bands inspiration was the music and symbolism of Nik Turner and Hawkwind but would grow to include many more influences including the Wisdom of Sun Ra,” explains founding member Brother Anubis Re. “I wanted to put together a band that allowed everyone to express themselves.... Reflecting the eclectic nature of all involved, while aiming for a common goal."
The band is currently putting the finishing touches to their full-length debut for L’N’L. The CD, entitled, Rendezvous with the Living Wisdom is set for a release date of December 21st 2005, the Winter Solstice.

Things happen in life that remind a person how fragile life can be. One of those things happened last week, Thursday, March 3rd, when Jack Stock passed away.
A great person, friend, musician, Jack was the type of person who upon meeting him for the first time, made you realize that there were still good, honest people around. A warm smile always greeted you, a smile that spoke of a joy for life, a joy for the music he created and for the friends surrounding him.
Jack was truly an inspiration. He wrote songs that were postcards laden with tongue-in-cheek humor and performed them with a mischievous twinkle emanating from his eye.
He took the stage with his trusty acoustic in hand and gave his best performance every single time. It didn’t matter if it was crowds of hundreds or just the venue’s staff. Home was the stage and we loved him for inviting us in for a spell.
Thank you Jack. We’ll miss you but we’ll never forget ya!

Greeetings friends!
We hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your com- passion and good will.
As many of you know, we collected 170lbs of much-needed food items for the Somerset County Food Bank at LNL's "Give Thanks To Rock & Roll" show.
Held on Nov. 24 at the Rail, a cool venue for original music, the show featured great performances by Zigman Bird and Trio Of Madness, complimented by a way-out slide show from Eric Vitner.
Again, thanks to all who came out to the show and big, warm hugs for Chris, Jen and the rest of the Rail's crew for helping make the show a success.
